My castle, my books.

work, Snow White way

Thank you, V., for sending The Long Goodbye, an unremittingly gorgeously written, gimlet-eyed guide to a journey of eating darkness. I am scared, I am sad, I needed a flashlight-book.

I do not know you. I've been a reader for a long while. I'm sorry that this is the flashlight book for you now. Having passed onto the other side of your journey myself, I think I need to order the book. And wish I'd had it a few years back. But then, I'm a big believer in the kismet of when certain books are handed to us.

Kelly, you stopped my breath. I am sorry that you need this book, but if you do need it, I am glad you found it. It came to me by an act of divinity.

I too am one who has been staring quietly at the mosaic of a stranger's life through this blog... taking the handfuls of poetry & treasures & beauty you leave behind you in your wake like a trail of scattered clues of your personal joys and sorrows. Now I wish I had something to give you in return, in what seems to be dark hours. All I can say is that far away there is a girl who will say a prayer for you, so your heart doesn't hurt for too long...
